FRIDGE MAGNETS

During cooking breaks

I often examine

the varied shaped

magnets on my fridge

These colorful

knickknacks

collected by me from different places

represent the world

its size and beauty

I have seen parts of the world

and still have energy to cover more

So I need a good refrigerator

to stock an adequate amount of food

I need to

adopt animals’ eyes to deal with

what’s in the pot and what’s in my bowl

and use human perspective to scrutinize

the inscrutable life

which is my dear body’s

own doings

I shall enable myself

to become in this bright world

a weary, way-worn wanderer
