Song of the Eagles
Lo, how enviable are th’ eagles
Hovering in the azure skies at ease!
Now alighting on th’ isles for fish and shrimps,
Now flapping to enjoy heavenly peace,
They do come down and go up as they please.
Oh, I’m not guilty of offending th’ Earth
And Heaven, how come a penalty so stern?
I’m hastened north lonely with th’ king;
Who knows when we’d be allow’d to return?
Alas, my tears roll down like chains of pearls,
And grief and cares in my aching heart burn!
